PART TIME RECEPTION AND ADMINISTRATION OFFICER
The Gideons International in Australia (TGIA) is seeking a highly motivated Reception and Administration Officer to provide administrative support to the National Office and to help ensure operations run efficiently.
We are looking for someone with proven people and administration experience to provide efficient and skilled support; a person with a ‘can do’ attitude and a high level of maturity, confidentiality, and professionalism. A confident, self-directed person who enjoys taking responsibility for their work, anticipating the needs of the team, and connecting kindly with the many TGIA members across Australia.
For the right candidate, we would consider school hours or other negotiated flexible arrangements.
The Business
TGIA is an Association of Christian business and professional men and their wives dedicated to telling people about Jesus through associating together for service, sharing personal testimony, and providing Bibles and New Testaments. While we are often recognised for our work with hotels, we also place and distribute Scriptures in strategic locations so they are available to those who want them, as well as to those who may not know they need them. We aspire to be an extension of the mission of the local church.
Key Responsibilities
- Phone Calls and Reception
- Mail processing (including a finance component)
- Merchandise and Scripture orders
- Donations from members, Friends of Gideons, and donors
- TGIA and member emails
- TGIA Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
- Working with Children management
- Booking routine office maintenance
- Other responsibilities and duties as negotiated with the National Executive Director
Essential Criteria
- Actively involved in the life of an evangelical church
- Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Administration skills and/or experience
- Professional phone manner
- Time management skills and the ability to prioritise work
- Strong communication skills with ability to listen, respond and build rapport across diverse groups
- Ability to work within a team and on their own
- Reliable and dependable
An understanding of Christian NFP environment and voluntary ministry would be an advantage. Where specific skills, qualifications or experience are lacking, an expression of willingness and desire to grow in those areas will be essential.
Wages will be commensurate with your experience. The successful applicant can begin work immediately.
