Are you a detail-oriented financial transactions professional? Do you thrive in a work environment committed to lightening the burden of your stakeholders?

We are looking for a dynamic finance professional to join our team in a job share arrangement to support the processing and recording of financial transactions across the Synod Office. This opportunity has recently become available to support flexible working within our Finance Team, with the possibility of the role becoming permanent for the right person.

About the role:

  • Accounts Payable 
    • Process financial transactions and documentation for Uniting Church vendors and UEL, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and guidelines. 
    • Process stipend journals, standing payments, and reimbursements for ministers' Fringe claims. 
    • Upload and process corporate credit card statements. 
    • Process weekly payment runs 
  • Accounts Receivable 
    • Manage the Accounts Receivable system processing, ledger management and debt collection and process corporate credit card statements. 
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure proper documentation for management and audit requirements. 
  • Process stipend journals, standing payments, and reimbursements for ministers' Fringe claims. 
  • Provide support for treasury processes, Fringe claim approvals, and assist with minister compliance and setup. 
  • Respond promptly to queries from ministers and internal teams, both verbally and in writing. 
  • Contribute to improving financial processes and controls, while maintaining compliance with all relevant policies and legislation. 
  • Support new ministers with training and ongoing financial setup.

About you:

  • Certificate III in Business Administration would be beneficial
  • Demonstrated experience in a accounts payable or accounts receivable position, preferably in not-for-profit
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial documentation compliance
  • Demonstrated ability with controls and reporting from a corporate background is advantageous
  • Intermediate experience with the Microsoft suite would be an advantage
  • Demonstrated experience with financial systems would be an advantage
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workloads alongside forming strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • The successful applicant must be eligible to legally work in Australia and proof of eligibility may be requested.
