  • Full-time, permanent role, commencing 2025
  • Provide Christian ministry to the school community, supporting students’ spiritual and pastoral needs and student learning and wellbeing

Presbyterian Ladies’ College (PLC) is a leading ELC to Year 12 Christian independent day and boarding school, focusing on the development of the whole person. The College has an outstanding academic tradition, an international outlook and robust pastoral and co-curricular programs.

The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified individual to take on a pivotal role in ministry leadership at PLC. The Director of Christian Ministries and College Chaplain is a full-time, permanent role.

To be appointed as the College Chaplain, our Constitution requires the successful candidate would be an ordained Presbyterian Minister, alternatively other candidates would be appointed as Director of Christian Ministries.

The incumbent will work closely with the Principal in leading the Christian ethos and supporting the strategic direction of the College. This role combines ministry duties with classroom teaching (indicative 0.4 FTE teaching load) and the Director of Christian Ministries and College Chaplain is expected both to support the College’s mission and the ethos of the Presbyterian Church.

This role offers an opportunity to support, shape and strengthen the Christian faith community of our College through personal example and purposeful leadership.

About You

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to the Presbyterian Christian ethos, with a proven record as an outstanding teacher and leader in school worship and ministry.

You will also possess a theological qualification and a formal qualification in pastoral care or equivalent.

You can speak knowledgeably and connect meaningfully with students, staff and the wider community to guide them in their faith journeys, while also working respectfully and sensitively with people of other faiths.

If this sounds like an opportunity of interest, please introduce yourself to us.

Please visit the PLC Careers website for further information and to submit an application. Applications close 9am Friday 1 November 2024.

All staff must commit to a culture that supports and embraces Child Safe Standards. The successful applicant will be required to hold and maintain a Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.

PLC is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment for all of its staff, where they feel welcomed, safe and respected.
