Domestic Violence Adviser

Anglicare is seeking a dedicated Domestic Violence and Family Violence Adviser to partner with leaders, service teams, and communities. This role ensures our programs and services uphold best practice standards in responding to domestic and family violence (DFV). As a subject matter expert, you will provide training, guidance, and specialist advice to build the capability of staff and volunteers across the organisation and parishes. This is a permanent part-time position (3 days a week) with flexible working arrangements on offer.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Training and Education: Design and deliver engaging, evidence-informed training on DFV, trauma-informed practice, grief and loss, mental health, and more.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strategic relationships across Anglicare, the community, and the Anglican diocese to ensure services are informed, skilled, and supported.
  • Parish Engagement: Support Anglican parishes in recognising and responding to DFV and other issues impacting relational and community wellbeing.

Key Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Qualifications in Counselling, Social Work, Education, or Social Science (or equivalent experience).
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent experience is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in developing and delivering family violence programs.
  • Experience working with/within Anglican parishes is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of DFV and trauma-informed practice.
  • Ability to influence, lead change, and build capacity in others.
  • Skilled in designing, delivering, and evaluating training initiatives.
  • Current unrestricted driver’s licence and a willingness to drive between sites as required.
  • Current WWCC, National Police Check, or willingness to obtain.
