About the Organisation
CYC Adventures is a practical mission arm of the Christian Community Churches of South East QLD. CYC Adventures facilitates life changing outdoor adventures for young people throughout south east Queensland and northern NSW through our school and holiday camps. 

About the Opportunity
CYC currently has an exciting opportunity available for an exceptional chef or cook at Lennox Head.  Due to growth in our school programs, the successful applicant has the chance to influence all aspects of our food service.

Reporting to the Catering Manager however working relatively independently, the primary purpose of this role will be to provide a calm and rewarding experience through varied, visually appealing, and healthy meals in a clean and pleasant environment.

This role is a full time position, with limited weekend work. An attractive remuneration package will be offered in line with skills and experience. 

Responsibilities

Responsibilities are broken into the following categories:

  • General
    • Communication with management and staff
    • Ensuring safe work practices
    • Working as part of the broader team
  • Administration
    • Record keeping
    • Stock control and handling
    • Awareness of and response to guest dietary needs
    • Compliance with our food safety program
    • Rostering
  • Meal Preparation, Cooking and service
    • Prepare, cook and serve meals
    • Quality control
    • Awareness of and response to safety issues and potential hazards
  • Cleaning and Hygiene
    • Implementation of cleaning schedules and processes
  • Ministry
    • Contribution to and participation in, the wider ministry of CYC

Key Requirements

  • Christian character with a mature faith and a passion for sharing the Gospel with children. An active involvement with a local church would usually be demonstrated
  • Qualified chef or competent cook
  • Current Blue Card (working with Children)
  • Current Manual Driver’s License
