St Luke’s Grammar School is one of eighteen schools that are part of the Anglican Schools Corporation (ASC) network of schools. The ASC works closely with the Principal and School Council to ensure wise oversight and governance of the School and provide support with core services including finance, IT, Compliance and Human Resources.
About the Role
St Luke’s Grammar School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and professional AV & Media Technician who is suitably qualified and enjoys working in a collaborative team. This role plays a key part in the technical execution of school events, performances, and learning activities, while also providing day-to-day AV support for staff and students.
The major responsibilities outlined below are indicative of this role.
Position: AV & Media Technician
Location: Dee Why & Bayview Campuses
Load: Full time, Term Time (8:00am - 4:00pm), flexibility to attend after school hour events.
Commencement: Immediate
Reporting to: Director of Performing Arts / Business Manager

Key Roles / Duties / Responsibilities
- Provide AV and media technical support at School events, including but not limited to the following:
- Regular events such as Assemblies, Chapel, Staff Meetings and PD days, including across both the Dee Why and Bayview campuses
- Community events such as Parent Information Evenings, Parent Teacher Interviews, Open Days, Graduation Assemblies, Awards, House Events, Guest Speakers, Orientation Days, etc
- Any other special events requiring technical support
- Provide effective and efficient technical support of Performing Arts faculty events (concerts, musicals, practical examinations, performances etc), including but not limited to the following;
- Setting up and packing down for events and performances
- Assisting with Music, Drama and other School productions
- Performance exam set up (eg Music, Drama, Dance)
- Effectively manage and maintain the School's AV technical equipment, resources and venues, particularly including oversight of:
- John Scott Hall sound, lighting and vision systems
- Prescott Hall sound, lighting and vision systems
- Outdoor audio systems (excluding paging/evacuation system)
- Outdoor Portable PA systems
- Mobile staging units
- Recording studios
- Borrowing and inventory of AV equipment
- Assets register of sound, lighting and vision systems
- Provide AV & Media technical support and training to students and staff throughout the school.
- Manage the School Recording Studio (Performing Arts) and train students and staff in the use of this space.
- Oversee, train and supervise students to support AV and Media within the school. This will include the continued growth and development of School AV and Media Teams at the Dee Why and Bayview Campuses.
- Maintain positive and productive relationships with the Director of Performing Arts, Head of Community Engagement, Deputy Principal, TASC ICT support team and Team Leaders.
- Undertake any other duties as requested by the Principal

Licenses/Certificates/Qualifications
- Valid Working with Children Check required
- Qualifications in Audio Visual and Media
Physical/Work Environment Requirements
- Strong physical, mental and emotional health to deal with the required demands and responsibilities of the role.
