Full-time position - A potential candidate who is able to commit to part-time ministry only, due to current theological studies, is also encouraged to apply. | Commencing late 2025

About Basso Church

Basso Church is a Bible-believing, evangelical church that is committed to preach Christ’s Gospel and to be faithful to God’s Word. As we do that, we seek to glorify God and to grow Christ’s kingdom, by building up our church community, and helping those who aren’t Christians to be saved.

Basso Church (more formally known as Church of Christ Bassendean (Inc)) is part of the association of Churches of Christ in Western Australia. We have been part of the Bassendean community for 112 years.
Our church has a mix of ages and cultures as part of our fellowship of approximately 200 people. We have a congregational style governance, where our church leadership shepherds and leads God’s people, seeking to know God’s will collaboratively with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Basso holds two Sunday services, and a variety of mid-week ministries that run during school terms. We have a strong missional focus, both locally and overseas.

If you have a genuine sense of ‘calling’ to serve in pastoral ministry, we invite you to consider this role.

About the Role

The Associate Pastor would provide pastoral care and bible-based preaching and teaching, in support of the Senior Pastor, and as a fellow Elder. This role will be integral in overseeing the Home Groups ministry at Basso Church.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Engage in preaching and teaching, primarily in our evening services.
  • Providing pastoral care and discipleship.
  • Fostering and growing our Home Group ministry, encouraging spiritual growth and sense of community within the church.
  • Participating in our weekly Sunday services and relevant mid-week ministries.
  • Perform weddings and funerals as needed.

Other Requirements

  • Deeply committed to Jesus, living out the biblical character and leadership qualifications found in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, as a pastor and fellow Elder.
  • Has a demonstrated ability to lead, build and equip others effectively and pastorally.
  • Works well within a team environment that values collaboration, accountability and servant-hearted leadership.
  • Formal qualifications in Theology and/or Ministry (a minimum qualification of Bachelor of Ministry or Bachelor of Theology, from an evangelical theological college).
  • Gain accreditation with Churches of Christ WA.
  • Working with Children Check and Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
  • Able to align with our Statement of Faith.

Remuneration is in line with the recommendations of the Churches of Christ Western Australia.
