Are you passionate about seeing the local church engaged in God’s global mission and bringing hope to children living in poverty? We are seeking a dedicated and strategic Church Partnerships Manager to join our experienced team and play a vital role in advancing our ministry across NSW.
About the Role In this mission-critical role, you will strengthen and grow partnerships with churches - inviting them into a deeper expression of their mission by engaging in child sponsorship. Your work will directly contribute to children being released from poverty in Jesus’ name, while empowering churches to live out the Gospel in a practical and transformative way.
The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, relational leader with a deep commitment to Christ, a heart for the Church, and the ability to communicate vision with clarity and conviction. This position reports to the Church Team Manager (NSW/ACT).
The successful applicant’s core responsibilities will be to:
- Identify, activate, and grow new church partnerships in Sydney and regional centres;
- Cultivate, nurture, and grow existing partnerships with churches in Sydney and regional centres;
- Evaluate, identify, and develop local initiatives aligned with national strategies that will simultaneously enhance the mission of Compassion and meet the needs of Compassion's partners;
- Work closely with other Compassion team members and the wider Strategic Partnerships department;
- Regularly plan, prepare and lead Compassion presentations at churches in Sydney and regional centres;
- Build and strengthen relationships with Compassion’s volunteer presenter team in NSW;
- Participate in domestic or international travel with strategic partners to facilitate increased understanding and engagement with Compassion's work, as required.
About you
The successful applicant will possess the following:
- Whilst maintaining and deepening relationships with key stakeholders must have the proven ability to work towards and achieve key goals;
- Ability to network and communicate effectively with people of diverse ages and backgrounds;
- Strong experience or demonstrated skill in lead generation;
- Experience in cultivating, nurturing and growing existing partnerships;
- In-depth knowledge and networks within the local church context;
- Strong understanding of global poverty and community development through a biblical lens;
- Experienced in public speaking in churches, conferences, pastors gathering/meetings;
Essential
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding targets/goals;
- Strong communication skills;
- Exemplary presentation skills.
Desirable
- Experience in Christian Organisations;
- Knowledge of philanthropic and fundraising landscape;
- Experience in For Purpose sector;
- Theological training and/or qualifications.
