YouthCARE is one of Western Australia's largest not-for-profit organisations. we aim to create positive school communities, where students are empowered and encouraged to be the best they can be. Each year YouthCARE Chaplains help thousands of students, staff and family members in Western Australian public-school communities by providing an essential social, emotional, spiritual and mental health support service.
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, this role is responsible for providing high quality advice and service delivery in recruitment, onboarding, employment contracts, eLearning and workers compensation, key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with senior executives to support them in achieving their strategic objectives.
- Managing the recruitment and onboarding of employees, including developing Job Specifications, Job Descriptions and Job Adverts.
- Assessing qualifications, completing VEVO Checks, initiating psychological assessments, developing Interview Guides, developing a short list of candidates for interview, complete reference checking and communicating the outcomes to applicants.
- Process end to end recruitment of new applicants in an efficient and timely manner, organising and conducting interviews with the Line Manager.
- Develop, maintain and implement onboarding processes for new staff, including the development of Employment Agreements, Variations and supporting documents and setting up new employees in YouthCARE’s systems.
- Provide excellent customer service and accurate advice on Policy, Employment Conditions, Staff Benefits and Professional Development.
- Assists with the development of eLearning programs, enrols participants in programs and maintains training records. Provides administration and maintenance of programs in the Learning Management System.
Work, Health and Safety
- Liaise with staff who had a workplace incident and conduct an investigation where necessary.
- Process workers compensation claims, liaising with the Insurer to manage any injuries and assist them with a return-to-work plan.
- Maintains regular contact with employees on workers compensation and ensure appropriate follow up and documentation is received.
General
- Involvement in HR investigations as required.
- Undertake other duties as required from time to time to provide relief when other HR Team members are away, assist with answering incoming calls when required.
- Comply with YouthCARE’s policies and guidelines and work within YouthCARE’s practices.
- Contributes to the development and improvement of the performance of the organisation.
- Upholds the Christian Vision, Mission and Values of the organisation.
Essential
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen and are a Permanent Residency in Western Australia.
- Possession of a relevant qualification and/or demonstrated experience in a Human Resources or Training and Assessment field.
- Excellent time management skills and an ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality and accuracy of work.
- Excellent oral, and written communication including competence in Microsoft Office applications.
- An ability to work independently without supervision and as part of a team.
- Able to support the Christian Mission and Vision of YouthCARE.
Desirable
- Experience in end-to-end recruitment, workers compensation and training.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent.
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a similar field.
