OneBuy (onebuy.org.au) is a procurement service and buying group for Christan organisations and not-for-profits. We help our members procure the best products and obtain significant savings in order to free more resources for mission. Our members include Christian campsites, schools, aged care, churches, cafes and other not-for-profits.
We are in a period of significant expansion. The number of suppliers available to our members has increased by over 30% in the last 6 months. Through partnerships with Associations and Denominations our membership has effectively doubled.
OneBuy is now looking for a Member Engagement Officer to connect this growing base of members to exceptional value suppliers.
OneBuy is a part of Christian Venues Association (CVA). CVA is a national member-based organisation supporting Christian venues that provide group accommodation, catering, and meeting spaces.
POSITION PURPOSE
The Member Engagement Officer exists to ensure OneBuy members actively access and benefit from OneBuy’s negotiated supplier partnerships.
The role focuses on proactive member engagement and increasing the real-world value and utilisation of OneBuy membership. This in turn provides those partners with the ability to free up resources for front line use.
This role is intended to be value-creating, helping drive member savings, supplier uptake, and long-term membership retention.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
Proactive Member Engagement
- Conduct outbound video/phone calls, emails and follow-ups with existing OneBuy members to:
- Understand their current procurement arrangements.
- Identify opportunities to transition them onto OneBuy-negotiated supplier deals.
- Conduct outbound calls with prospective OneBuy members to:
- Understand more about the organisation and their purchasing needs
- Promote the benefits of OneBuy and seek to establish the organisation as a member if appropriate
- Connect the organisation with beneficial OneBuy supplier deals
- Act as a trusted guide, helping members understand and act on cost-saving opportunities.
- Maintain a consistent, friendly, and values-aligned member experience.
- Create and execute new initiatives to further grow the member base and deepen their connection with suppliers.
Deal Activation & Supplier Connection
- Proactively connect members with OneBuy’s key suppliers
- Coordinate introductions, ensure supplier requirements are completed, and follow up on outcomes.
- Track which members are using which supplier arrangements. Identify and act on further opportunities for engagement.
Member Onboarding & Support
- Support onboarding of new members including contact with members and OneBuy system onboarding
- Ensure members understand how to access OneBuy benefits and services.
- Respond to general member enquiries in a timely manner.
CRM, Reporting & Insights
- Maintain accurate records of member engagement, calls, supplier connections, and uptake in the CRM (Hubspot).
- Provide a simple, regular summary to the Manager, including:
- Number of proactive member contacts.
- Supplier deal activations.
- Emerging member needs or opportunities.
- Contribute insights to improve OneBuy’s member journey and supplier offerings.
Communications & Administration
- Assist with member communications including emails and social media.
- Respond to call and email member enquiries including requests for quotations from suppliers.
- Support renewal reminders and light administrative tasks related to membership.
- Update website or member resources as required (basic edits).
EMPLOYEE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend and participate in OneBuy/CVA meetings, and training as required
- Adhere to OneBuy/CVA policies, procedures, and standards
- Perform additional duties within skill set as required from time to time
- Ensure relevant reporting occurs promptly, is enacted as needed and filed accordingly
- Work autonomously and effectively in a ministry environment where it is important that time is used efficiently, honestly and resourcefully.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Essential
- Strong phone/video-based and communication and relationship-building skills.
- Confident engaging proactively with members (outbound calls).
- Organised, self-directed, and comfortable working remotely.
- Basic CRM or database experience.
- Strong alignment with OneBuy’s Christian values and theological framework.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
Desirable
- Experience in membership organisations, NFPs, education, churches, camps, or associations.
- Exposure to procurement, supplier management, utilities, or business services.
- Experience in managing social media platforms and tools
- Familiarity with schools, churches, camps, or care organisations.
- Experience demonstrating value or cost savings to members/customers.

Hours and Flexibility
Up to 14 hours per week. Hours may be structured as two full days per week or spread across five days (e.g., within school hours). Flexible arrangements may allow additional time off during school holidays through adjusted term-time scheduling.
Remuneration
Remuneration will be commensurate with skills and experience, aligned with industry standards and OneBuy/CVA’s organisational policies.
