This is a leadership role for a proven fundraising professional who brings both strategic rigour and pastoral sensitivity, with the ability to inspire teams, steward supporter relationships with integrity, and lead complex, multi-channel fundraising initiatives at scale.

About Vision Christian Media

Vision Christian Media is a trusted national Christian media ministry, reaching people across Australia through radio, digital platforms, podcasts, video and print. With a monthly audience of over 1.3 million, Vision exists to help people look to God daily, delivering Bible-centred content, prayer, teaching and discipleship resources to communities nationwide.

Vision is primarily supported by the generosity of its supporters, making fundraising and supporter development central to the ministry's sustainability and growth. https://vision.org.au/about-us.

About the Role

The Director of Fundraising and Supporter Development provides leadership for Vision’s fundraising and philanthropy strategy, overseeing major campaigns, supporter communications, major donors, bequests, and philanthropic partnerships.

The role also leads revenue planning, performance analysis and team development, ensuring fundraising activity is mission‑aligned, insight-led and delivered with excellence, transparency and trust.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of Vision’s fundraising, philanthropy and supporter engagement strategy.
  • Provide end-to-end leadership of major fundraising campaigns, including major fundraising campaigns.
  • Own supporter and donor analysis to inform segmentation, messaging, investment decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Lead supporter communications strategy, ensuring consistent tone, theology, storytelling and invitation.
  • Steward the growth of major donor, bequest and philanthropic support beyond the existing audience.
  • Collaborate closely with Marketing, Digital, Radio Content and Customer Services leaders to ensure an integrated supporter experience across platforms.
  • Lead revenue planning, budgeting and performance reporting against agreed targets.
  • Lead, mentor and develop fundraising and supporter communications teams, fostering a collaborative and mission-aligned culture.
  • Ensure all fundraising activity aligns with Organisational mission, values, governance and compliance requirements.

About You

You are a senior fundraising leader with a strong track record in not-for-profit or Christian ministry contexts. You bring strategic clarity, analytical discipline, and relational depth, with the ability to translate insights into compelling, ethical, and effective supporter engagement.

You will demonstrate:

  • Senior experience leading fundraising, philanthropy or supporter engagement in a mission-based organisation.
  • Proven success delivering complex, multi-channel fundraising campaigns.
  • Strong strategic communication capability, including campaign concept development and creative briefing.
  • Experience working collaboratively with marketing, digital and broadcast leaders.
  • A mature, active Christian faith and alignment with Vision Christian Media’s beliefs and values.
  • Experience in donor analytics, segmentation, and faith-based media environments is highly regarded.

As a representative of Vision Christian Media, it is a genuine occupational requirement of all roles that staff align with, hold and act consistently with Vision’s core values and religious beliefs https://vision.org.au/core-beliefs.
