Chaplaincy Ministry Leader
Part-time 3 days per week $65,000-77,000 + superannuation + Ministers Exempt benefit Rhodes office location + hybrid + visitations across NSW/ACT
Churches of Christ in NSW & ACT has been offering ministries of compassion for almost 140 years, motivated by a desire to serve others.
We are currently looking for a Chaplaincy Ministry Leader to bring compassionate, strategic and spiritual oversight to our chaplaincy team.
You will oversight a diverse and vibrant team who offer a Christian presence and pastoral care in Aged Care, Retirement Living, Hospitals, Prisons and Schools across NSW.
You will ensure that our team is grounded in Christian faith and compassionate care, shaping services and supporting team members as they meet the diverse spiritual needs of those they serve.
Based at Rhodes, you will be travelling to locations across NSW to lead and develop this team.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of chaplaincy services
- Build key relationships across chaplaincy services
- Placement, development and support of chaplaincy staff and volunteers.
- Develop and maintain best practice policies and ensure quality standards in the team
- Proactively engaging with cofC churches who want to offer chaplaincy in their local community
- Provide leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Apply Christian theology in pastoral settings.
You must:
- Be an authorised member of a religious institution and be recognised officially through endorsement as a minister by churches of Christ in NSW.
- Hold a relevant degree in theology and demonstrated experience (5 years +) in chaplaincy, pastoral ministry or ministry team leadership.
- Be personally committed to your spiritual maturity as a follower of Jesus Christ and encourage others in their spiritual formation.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead, and motivate a diverse team.
- Hold a Current National Police Check, Working with Children Check and current Creating Safe Spaces Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid NSW Driver’s License and vehicle
