Position Title:              IT Manager, Australia (Full Time)
Reporting To:               IT Director, International Office IHQ and Managing Officer

Samaritan’s Purse Australia (SPA) is a non-profit, Christian organisation providing emergency relief and development assistance to suffering people around the world. Samaritan’s Purse is meeting the physical needs of victims of war, famine, natural disaster, poverty and disease. 

Operation Christmas Child (OCC), a project of Samaritan’s Purse is a powerful evangelistic outreach, delivering gift-filled shoeboxes to children in need around the world demonstrating God’s love and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

The IT Manager provides hands-on leadership for all aspects of technology operations within our Sydney Australia office. In alignment with the global IT strategy set by our International Headquarters (IHQ), this role ensures that local systems, data, and digital tools function reliably and securely to support our mission of sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through compassionate relief and development work.

The IT Manager is responsible for executing IHQ’s IT direction, ensuring excellent local implementation, and mentoring the IT team to deliver dependable, mission-focused service. This position requires a balance of technical expertise, servant leadership, and collaborative partnership with ministry and operations teams.

The IT Manager will ensure the processes and procedures for data and systems management are robust and in line with best practice, regulatory, and quality standards.

The IT Manager is part of the Senior Management Team and serves as the trusted advisor and provides leadership on all IT and Data matters.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must maintain a personal relationship with and be a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, be self-motivated and goal oriented, as well as able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. It is essential to reside in the assigned region.  Some international travel will be required.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Demonstrate Christian values aligned with the ministries’ Statement of Faith and a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a heart for service.
  • Leadership – Model servant leadership and Christ-centred integrity in all interactions.
  • Team Building – Experience and proven success in support and mentoring of a small data team
  • Relationship Management – Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to drive a culture of teamwork, learning, and stewardship within the IT department.
  • Qualifications – Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum five years’ IT management experience post qualification
  • Expertise in implementing, configuring and testing IT solutions 
  • Strong creative and analytical thinking 
  • Highly organised with an ability to prioritise and adapt to changing demands
  • Knowledge of IT security and risk management best practices

This position is a full-time position
Salary package includes a non-cash benefit
