OM operates in over 120 countries focussed on sharing the Gospel with those who have never heard it before as well as discipling new believers.
The Role
We are looking for several volunteers who are keen to support global Gospel proclamation, with their finance skills.
We have many offices around the world that only have an under trained team member looking after the team finances. We are looking for people who are able to provide these offices with remote assistance and supervision. We currently have a dozen or so people working successfully in similar roles.
We are keen to see a strong partnership develop between you and our finance team members. We encourage travel to provide occasional face to face support.
Key Responsibilities are likely to include
- Oversee the local finance team and help them to stay up to date
- Prepare the monthly inter entity reconciliations
- Monitoring cashflow
- Prepare end of month balance sheet reconciliations
- Review the chart of accounts and cost centre structure to help the team produce effective management reports
- Interpreting financial data for team leadership
- Assisting annual budget preparation
Skills
You should have
- accounting experience
- clear spoken English
- good communication skills
- self motivation
- be culturally aware
Optional
- someone who speaks Spanish would be a blessing for some of our Latin American ministries. Portuguese or French speakers would be great for several teams in Africa. We have other specific language needs.
- An interest in mentoring and developing the staff you are working with
Time Commitment and Work Hours
We are seeking an average of 4 to 8 hours per week. The exact times and days are quite flexible and can fit in with your other commitments including holidays.
