Early Learning Centre Educator
General Level 3 - Certificate III or General Level 4 – Diploma
Casual and part time contract available

 

Role and Responsibilities (Certificate 3)

  • Supports the design of a quality early childhood program from a biblical perspective which meets the needs of the children attending Portside Christian College Early Learning Centre and in line with the requirements of the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework v2.0.
  • Engage in collaborative learning teams exploring and implementing the Reggio Emilia inspired approach to learning and nature pedagogy.
  • Supports the design of the learning environment in response to the children’s engagement to extend and enrich the experience.
  • Work cooperatively with staff, families and allied professionals to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children attending the service.
  • Support the recording of children’s learning in accordance to the Lead Educator’s guidance.
  • Records daily room updates and other documentation on Storypark around children’s care.
  • Participate in Staff Meetings and enter into conversations around reflective practice.
  • Undergo appraisal meetings to set and review professional, wellbeing and practice goals.
  • Adhere to all ELC policies and procedures.

 

Role and Responsibilities (Diploma)

  • Supports the design of a quality early childhood program from a biblical perspective which meets the needs of the children attending Portside Christian College Early Learning Centre and in line with the requirements of the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework v2.0.
  • Work cooperatively with staff, families and allied professionals to provide a safe, nurturing and stimulating environment for children attending the service.
  • Engage in collaborative learning teams exploring and implementing the Reggio Emilia inspired approach to learning and nature pedagogy.
  • Assists in the design of the learning environment in response to the children’s engagement to extend and enrich the experience.
  • Participates in the documentation of children’s learning in accordance to the Lead Educator’s guidance.
  • Lead small groups of children in learning experiences and whole team sessions eg. Together Times.
  • Record daily room updates and other documentation on Storypark.
  • Participate in Staff Meetings and enter into conversations around reflective practice.
  • Contribute to Team Meetings in reflection of the children’s learning and further design.
  • Complete Responsible Person duties as required
  • Undergo appraisal meetings to set and review professional, wellbeing and practice goals.
  • Adhere to all ELC policies and procedures

 

Qualifications

  • A minimum Certificate III or diploma level qualification, preferably with a specialisation in Early Childhood, with previous experience working in an early childhood centre highly desirable.
  • South Australian Government Working with Children Check.
  • Current Senior First Aid qualification HLTAID012 (including Anaphylaxis and Asthma training).
  • Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) Training.
  • Foundation of Child Safety Training administered through Geccko
