Volunteer Treasurer 

LinC Church Services Network National Inc. (LinC National) is a small registered not-for-profit volunteer association. It is a Christian, volunteer organisation utilising its well-established model for providing practical support through local church networks for people in need.  Affiliated networks operate currently in nine neighbourhood regions in Queensland, NSW and Victoria.  LinC stands for Love in the name of Christ. Please join us to help show Christ’s love in action and gain experience in the not-for-profit sector. 

This role is 1-2 hours per week on average and is a volunteer position at any location. 

As a member of the Board, the LinC National Treasurer provides financial management advice and support to the board at bi-monthly meetings (via Zoom). Tasks include recording and reporting income and expenses using QuickBooks, setting up payments, managing payroll for one part-time employee, issuing annual invoices to LinC Affiliates and members, and assisting the auditor with the annual financial year-end audit.

Location:  

  • Anywhere, as the volunteer would be working from home.

Position overview

  • Voluntary (1-2 hours per week – on average).
  • The position provides financial management advice and support to the Board.
  • As a guide as to the financial scale, in 2024-25 total income was approx. $28,000 and total expenses were approx.$26,000.
  • Note - The current Treasurer would give initial advice and help.

Key responsibilities

  • Record income and expenses using QuickBooks (using own computer)
  • Be a signatory to LinC National’s bank accounts (Bendigo Bank)
  • Present Balance and P&L reports to Board meetings (via Zoom)
  • Be a member of the Board, which meets bi-monthly
  • Manage payroll payments for one part-time employee
  • Issue annual invoices to LinC Affiliates and members
  • Assist the auditor with the annual financial year-end audit

 Skills and qualifications

  • Experience in financial management and/or accounting and in e-banking, but qualification in accounting or finance is not essential
  • Commitment to the mission and values of LinC.
