SU Australia in the Northern Territory
In the Northern Territory, we are seeking to appoint a full-time Field Development Manager to lead and develop our ministry in schools, including managing our team of school chaplains and facilitating religious instruction (RI) in schools. You will be responsible for recruiting and training chaplains and volunteer RI teachers/helpers, as well as being required to personally teach RI in some schools. In your new role, you will visit churches and other supporters to build networks and grow SU’s school’s ministry in the region. This role is based in Darwin and may also require some travel to other parts of the NT.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- A mature personal faith and values consistent with SU’s ethos and theology
- A strong background in ministry and mission, preferably with children and young people
- Experience in School Chaplaincy and/or RI
- Theological training with a teaching background
- Experience in a similar role of coordinating and developing volunteers
- A successful track record in building and maintaining networks and an ability to represent our organisation effectively in external settings
