CityLife Community Care (CLCC) is the community caring expression of CityLife Church Knox. It exists to connect our church with our local community, to support and empower people in need to thrive.

For over twenty years, CLCC has supported people in times of crisis, financial difficulties, isolation and distress. Through our volunteers and staff, we offer holistic services and empowering pathways for people to move forward in their lives and thrive. People are also encouraged to give back to the community and empower others to thrive.

CLCC is currently looking for a resourceful, organised and self motivated individual to become our Practical Support Coordinator.

The primary role of the Practical Support Coordinator is to provide client engagement through appointments and effective coordination and support in the area of Practical Support.  You may also be required to offer assistance and support for other CLCC’s community support programs.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate, participate in and oversee effective intake, assessment, referral and support processes for Practical Support, ensuring delivery of services adheres to CLCC’s policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate and oversee all aspects of the food pantry operations ensuring correct food safety practices, stock availability, management of donations and liaising with Practical Support donation partners.
  • Deliver and/or oversee the delivery of community support programs for Practical Support run by CLCC or through partnership with other services, and through emergency relief networks.
  • Manage and participate in client appointments, in-take, assessment and referrals to determine the most appropriate supports to assist individuals.
  • Support community support workers in their care for the clients, ensuring appropriate delivery of services.
  • Lead volunteers within Practical Support in delivering set goals and targets in alignment with CLCC’s vision, mission, values and direction, and adhering to Citylife and CLCC’s policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in the assessment of client needs and in the delivery of emergency relief programs, including working in crisis situations with highly vulnerable community members.
  • Demonstrate ability in leading teams of volunteers to deliver community support programs.
  • Experience in developing volunteer leaders, empowering them to thrive.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and experience in working effectively with people from diverse background and all walks of life.
  • Experience in in-take and assessment for community support program participants.
  • Community service experience, working with people who are affected by social issues such as mental health, isolation, addiction, or family violence.
  • Demonstrated ability to organise, set and implement priorities; manage multiple tasks; and achieving set goals.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills and administrative skills.
  • Multi-tasking and ability to manage varied projects, groups and multiple relationships.
  • Demonstrated capacity for resourcefulness and self-motivation and an ability to manage competing, complex work priorities.
  • High level of computer proficiency.
