Who is CoCWA?
We are an association of diverse and autonomous member churches, dedicated to fostering relationships and providing resources to Churches of Christ in Western Australia, so that our local churches can thrive.

We are an organisation with a purpose to resource our churches and ministry partners to help them achieve their mission and further the work of Churches of Christ in Western Australia. We are a movement compelled and propelled by the mission of Jesus. Our goal is to support, affirm and encourage our churches through all that we do.
The opportunity/role
As part of our support to our churches, we offer a bookkeeping service on a fee for use basis, helping churches who choose to engage with us for this service, to have clarity and professionalism with their finances. Currently we service 12 churches and 2 partner organisations of varying sizes and complexities, and a rare opportunity has become available for a fulltime, experienced Bookkeeper to join our team.
You will work closely with our Finance Manager and your responsibilities will include:
- Accounts payable & receivable
- Bank/Card reconciliation
- Payroll
- Fixed asset
- General ledger & accounts reconciliation
- Month end & year end closing
- BAS – assisting in preparations
- Budget control & financials reporting
- Other admin ad-hoc duties

Ideal Candidates will:
- Demonstrate alignment with the Churches of Christ model and ethos
- Demonstrate a passion for our mission and purpose
- Demonstrate a strong capability to fulfil the requirements of the role
- Be able to undertake their role in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining attention to detail
- Have certificate or higher qualifications in Bookkeeping or Accounting
- Demonstrate skills using Xero and Microsoft Office (Excel is essential)
- Have significant experience in a role as a bookkeeper in a sizeable organisation
- Be able to plan and organise their own work and work as part of a team
- Display good interpersonal and written communication skills to be able to liaise with clients effectively
