Do you enjoy working in a team? Do you have either good admin or maintenance skills? Are you physically fit? Would you like to serve the mission community through hospitality? If so, you could be who we are looking for to join the volunteer staff team at Tree Tops Lodge Cairns, Wycliffe Australia’s motel in beautiful tropical Far North Queensland.
Tree Tops Lodge exists to provide short-term accommodation to cross-cultural workers who are needing a break, seeking medical attention, or transiting through Cairns. All staff positions are voluntary, unsalaried positions in order to keep the costs low for the mission community who are the primary users.
Successful applicants will serve on a roster that includes alternate weekends and some evenings, and will need to have:
- previous experience and success in a team environment
- previous management experience
- clear communication skills, both written and verbal
- good overall health and fitness
- supervisory skills
- office and computer skills with excellent accuracy and attention to detail, or
- general maintenance and gardening skills.
Applicants:
- can specify a short or long-term involvement (2 months to several years)
- must be either Australian or New Zealand citizens or permanent residents, or have an appropriate Australian visa that allows volunteering
- will need to become Volunteers or Members of Wycliffe Bible Translators Australia
- must be either self-funded or be willing to raise a team of prayer and financial partners to support them in this ministry position
- may be required to participate in some orientation training in Melbourne, Australia.
As part of a team managing our motel in tropical, Far North Queensland, you would play a crucial role in supporting cross-cultural workers from a variety of mission agencies in Northern Australia and the Pacific.
