POSITION: Senior Social Worker – Varied workload, including Casework and Staff Supervision.
AWARD: Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services Industry Award 2010, or the appropriate Award for the person’s qualifications.
HOURS: Full-time or part-time. Flexible and negotiable to suit the right candidate.
LOCATION: Ringwood North
START DATE: March or April 2025
The role would include some staff supervision/support/guidance, casework, youth mentoring, and coordination of practical support for families and adolescents involved in Temcare's programs. Also to assist with running the annual Temcare Family and Youth camps. Various other duties make it a varied and interesting role.
The position would suit applicants with experience with disadvantaged young families and adolescents.
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
Temcare is a ‘not for profit’ Christian social services agency operating since 1968, providing various support services for families and youth. We are a Bible-based Christian agency committed to Jesus’ teachings and intent on reflecting His love and care to those in need.
Our programs include: HOPE, practical assistance for adolescent children of prisoners; NURTURE, practical assistance for struggling single mothers/families with toddlers; SAFE, a referral service and practical assistance for crisis pregnancy situations; MATES, youth mentoring; RESPITE care for children; and we provide free school holiday CAMPS for vulnerable youth.
POSITION OBJECTIVE
The primary purpose of this position is to support and develop Temcare's programs as we help families and young people to develop emotionally, physically, and relationally positive lifestyles and assist them in exploring matters of the Christian faith if/when they are interested. SELECTION CRITERIA
Qualifications
The position would suit an experienced senior social worker with a heart for Christian work, vulnerable families and children, and who is actively involved in a Bible-believing church community.

- Provide at least 3-4 references [including a reference from the applicant’s church pastor/leader and most recent employer] who will be contacted.
The successful applicant will need to:
- Provide a copy of a current ‘Working with Children Check’.
- Submit to a National Police Check.
- Hold and provide a copy of a current Victorian Driver’s Licence.
- Be willing to agree with and sign Temcare’s ‘Child Protection Statement’, and ‘Code of Conduct,’ a copy of which will be provided to the potential candidates.
