YOUTH MINISTRY SPECIALISTS – MELBOURNE AND SYDNEY
Location: Sydney and Melbourne
Employment: Part-time 2 -3 days
Reports to: Youth Lead

We are seeking 2 youth ministry specialists to join our team in both Sydney and Melbourne! We would love to chat with you if you live and breathe finding ways to reach young people with the good news of Jesus and have experience in connecting with leaders in the youth and young adult space.
About the Role:
The Youth Ministry Specialist will assist the National Youth Lead with developing and implementing the Next Gen strategy for Alpha Australia and be a key contributor in leading events, developing key relationships and strategic partnerships, developing content and recognising new growth opportunities for Alpha Youth.
The big goal of this role is to see more youth ministries, schools and universities across Australia run Alpha Youth and Life Essentials, to see students and their leaders empowered through Spheres as a way of further equipping student-led Alphas and increasing relationships and partnerships across denominations in the youth and young adults’ space in Australia.

As we enter into this new season of evangelisation, renewal and transformation and approach the 2,000 year anniversary of the life, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ in 2033, Alpha Australia has outlined a new Strategic Plan - Alpha for Everyone - which seeks to realise a new commitment to the Great Commandment and the Great Commission and continue to proclaim the timeless truth in a relevant and engaging way for our time. This role is instrumental to realising this vision.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate, contribute to and implement Alpha’s Next Gen strategy for your state
- Engage with denominational, local church, youth, schools, university ministries and relevant para-church leaders informing them of Alpha Youth promotions, events and provide training opportunities
- Host and lead amazing and engaging events
- Identify strategic growth opportunities, and work collaboratively with the National Youth Lead in the development of new initiatives, products and approaches to further the work of supporting next generation ministry leaders in Australia
(please note, some travel and after-hours work will be required)
What We’re Looking For:
Required:
- Two years Youth and or Young Adult ministry experience.
- Confident use of digital technology (including Microsoft and Google Suite);
- Strong ability to engage with and respect people from a variety of cultures and faiths and from all Christian traditions, denominations, or movements.
- Proven ability to work within a budget
- Eagerness to learn and develop in understanding of Alpha and its role as a thought leader in evangelization
- Commitment to and passionate about Alpha and its mission and committed to serving all parts of the church globally
Desirable:
- Qualification or studies in theology, leadership or management (eg. Masters)
- Salesforce / database management experience.
- Experience running Alpha and/or Alpha Youth.
