THE ROLE:
Position Overview:
The Director of Partnerships is responsible for overseeing the development of our Partners, overseas and in Australia, and providing leadership to the members of the Partnerships Team and their programs (COCOA, ICP and IMA). This role ensures that Global Mission Partners is supporting our local partners, is well represented among sector networks, ensures partner views are represented in Executive decision making and compliance standards are achieved.
The position is a key leadership role in the delivery of our overseas aid, Christian mission and Indigenous programs.
Reports To: Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Team: Partnerships Team Nature of Appointment: 1.0FTE (5 days) Workplace: Hybrid (can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney)
Key Responsibilities and Performance Requirements:
- Leading the members and managing the strategic priorities of the Partnership Team.
- Overseeing Partner relationship management in coordination with our Partnership Team members.
- Strengthening Partnerships through regular visits and reviews, ensuring agreements are current, projects are designed, monitored and evaluated and aligned with GMP strategic priorities.
- Developing policies and procedures for the effective operation of COCOA, ICP and IMA programs in line with sector-wide compliance standards.
- Being the primary point person for ANCP (DFAT) accreditation and ACFID membership, ensuring expectations and requirements are met, including submitting plans and reports accurately and on time.
- Coordinate Partner development to build organisational capacity, strengthen leadership and increase interdependence.
- Develop and manage budgets for the three program areas, COCOA, ICP and IMA.
- Contribute to the promotion of Global Mission Partners to grow engagement among Australian Christians (specifically Churches of Christ).
- Contribute positively to the Executive Team, representing Partnership perspectives in the overall strategic management of Global Mission Partners.
OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Occasional Board reporting (as required)
- Main contact person for DFAT, ACFID and other networks
- Represent Global Mission Partners within and across sector-wide forums and events
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS:
- Strong alignment with Global Mission Partners vision and values
- Personal commitment to wholistic Christian mission and development
- Strong people leadership skills with 5+ years team management experience in a faith-based NGO
- Strong cross-cultural communication and partnership development experience
- 10+years in the aid and development sector managing partnerships and programs
- Post Graduate Qualifications in International Aid and Development (or similar fields)
- Experience managing DFAT accreditation or re-accreditation processes
- Capable management of program and project budgets
- Skills in qualitative and quantitative impact measurement and program data visualisation
- Willingness to travel overseas and interstate (as required)
- Experience working with First Nation Australians (desirable)
- Other desirable credentials – RedR HEAT, Partnership Broker Accreditation, Arrow Leadership or similar
DELEGATION AND AUTHORITY:
- Reports to the CEO
- Management and performance responsibility for COCOA, ICP and IMA team members
- Collaborates directly with the CFO on budget management, the Director of Engagement for promotions, the Partner Finance Coordinator for partner payment and acquittals and other team members as required
- Board presentations and engagement (as required)
- External management responsibility to partners and contractors (as required)
