VANA Australia is a Christian not-for-profit dedicated to building a future for vulnerable children in Zimbabwe through education, nutrition, and holistic care.
As Director for Fundraising & Marketing, you’ll:
- Build and nurture partnerships with churches and businesses.
- Share VANA’s mission through powerful storytelling, presentations, and campaigns.
- Lead creative marketing initiatives across digital and print platforms.
- Inspire others to join our mission of transforming lives in Zimbabwe.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong communication skills, a heart for ministry, and proven experience in fundraising, marketing, or relationship management.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Church Engagement
- Identify, engage, and nurture partnerships with churches (especially in SE QLD).
- Deliver presentations at church services, groups, and leadership meetings.
- Equip and support church champions to advocate for VANA.
- Collaborate with the Executive Director on sponsor drives and campaigns.
Business Engagement
- Identify and approach value-aligned businesses for corporate partnerships.
- Develop and maintain relationships that support VANA programs.
- Establish multiyear giving partnerships.
- Support business fundraising initiatives aligned with VANA’s objectives.
Marketing
- Coordinate VANA’s marketing and communications strategy, including major campaigns (EOFY & Christmas).
- Develop content for newsletters, social media, donor communications, and child sponsorship materials.
- Manage digital marketing activity.
- Track and report on campaign performance, recommending improvements.
CRITERIA
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, marketing, ministry, or relationship management.
- Strong written, verbal, and public speaking communication skills, with the ability to inspire and engage diverse audiences (churches, businesses, donors).
- Proven ability to build and maintain partnerships with churches, businesses, and donor communities.
- Storytelling and content creation skills that foster emotional connection and support.
- Competence in digital marketing (social media, email, websites, Canva, Raisely, Wix).
- Organisational and project management skills to coordinate multiple campaigns and partnerships.
- Knowledge of fundraising principles, donor engagement strategies, and marketing in a not-for-profit context.
- Familiarity with church culture and networks (particularly in SE QLD).
- Personal Christian faith and alignment with VANA’s mission and values.
- Current driver’s licence.
Desirable Criteria
- Tertiary qualifications in fundraising, marketing, communications, ministry, or a related field.
- Experience in the not-for-profit or missions sector.
- Established networks in SE QLD churches or business communities.
- Experience managing multi-year donor or business partnerships.
- Advanced skills in Canva, Raisely, and website platforms.
- Analytical ability to interpret supporter engagement and campaign performance data.
- Event coordination and donor experience management.
- Knowledge of donor-based fundraising models, particularly child sponsorship.
- Awareness of cross-cultural contexts and global mission work.
