About the Role
We are seeking a committed and capable Teaching Assistant (Theology) to provide administrative and technical support to the discipline of Theology within the School of Ministry and Theology. This casual role supports faculty and students in the delivery of face-to-face and online subjects and contributes positively to the life and mission of the College.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with academic and professional staff to support learning, facilitate smooth subject delivery, and assist in equipping Christian leaders.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing administrative and technical support to permanent and adjunct faculty in subject delivery
- Providing technical support to students, including LMS assistance
- Coordinating with Subject Coordinators to develop and organise unit content
- Working with IT and Digital Learning Services (DLS) to develop and maintain LMS sites
- Coordinating with the Library team to support access to relevant learning resources
- Supporting grade reporting processes in collaboration with faculty and the Registry team
This role may evolve to meet the operational needs of the College.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications
- Completion of a Bachelor’s degree from an Australian or recognised international higher education institution (strongly preferred)
- Commitment to the Christian faith that informs professional and personal practice
Experience
- Experience using Learning Management Systems (e.g. Moodle)
- Experience in a customer service or student support environment
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent attention to detail and strong written communication skills
- Competent computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and cloud-based systems
- Clear and effective communication skills, adaptable to different audiences
- Strong customer service focus and student-centred approach
- Ability to work collaboratively and support team members
- Effective time management and organisational skills
