ABOUT ALPHA AUSTRALIA

Alpha Australia exists to serve the Church in its mission to help people discover and develop a relationship with Jesus. Through tools like the Alpha course, we equip and inspire churches of all denominations to create spaces where conversations about life, faith, and meaning can flourish.

We are a collaborative, mission-driven team passionate about innovation, strategy, and seeing lives transformed by the gospel across Australia. We have a vision to see everyone in Australia given the opportunity to discover a relationship with Jesus through Alpha. We are for everyone, everywhere!

To advance this vision, we are appointing a Digital Lead who will provide strategic leadership and oversight of Alpha Australia’s entire digital ecosystem. This role is responsible for shaping, developing, and continuously improving the digital platforms, systems, tools, and capabilities that enable Alpha’s mission to scale and thrive nationally.

This role combines strategic leadership, systems thinking, and innovation to ensure Alpha’s digital presence and infrastructure are effective, aligned, and future-ready - supporting churches, ministries, and individuals running Alpha across Australia.

Responsibilities include oversight/contribution across the following areas:

  1. Digital Strategy and Ecosystem Oversight:
  • Lead the design, execution, and ongoing refinement of Alpha Australia’s digital strategy.
  • Provide end-to-end oversight of all digital platforms, systems, tools, and data environments. Identify gaps, risks, and opportunities across the digital ecosystem and translate these into strategic initiatives, ensuring that digital solutions are scalable, secure, user-centred, and aligned with Alpha’s mission and organisational strategy.
  • Ensure continuous improvement of digital tools and workflows to support sustainability and scale, and champion innovation by leveraging data and emerging technologies.
  1. Leadership and Team Development:
  • Lead, manage, and develop the Digital team, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and collaboration.
  • Set clear priorities, goals, and performance measures for digital initiatives.
  • Work closely with the Associate National Director and senior leaders to ensure alignment and application of digital tools and systems across teams and functions.
  1. Stakeholder Management:
  • Provide strategic and practical leadership in the implementation of Alpha’s strategy through digital channels.
  • Manage projects and contracts with external providers for new innovation as well as existing systems, ensuring relationships are strong and outcomes are delivered on-time and within budget.

ABOUT YOU

You are a strategic, mission-driven leader with a passion for using digital to enable ministry at scale. You bring clarity to complexity and are energised by building systems, platforms, and teams that help others succeed. You have strong experience leading digital platforms, systems, or products, and you combine big-picture thinking with practical execution. You are proactive, collaborative, and comfortable navigating change, ambiguity, and innovation in a growing organisation.

You are deeply committed to Jesus and aligned with Alpha’s mission and values. You care about people, love the Church, and are motivated by seeing digital systems serve the ministry - creating environments where churches feel equipped, supported, and empowered to help people encounter Jesus.
