As a Program Lead Financial Capability you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping Anglicare’s shift from crisis response to longer support and lasting change.

Your Opportunity
Our new financial wellbeing team, FinWell is looking for a Program Lead Financial Capability to support people beyond crisis moments, helping them understand their finance, build confidence, and create stability over time through ongoing, connected support from trusted teams working together.
The Program Lead will oversee the Financial Wellbeing services in the Illawarra, based in Wollongong. You will lead a team of up to 6 professionals delivering Financial Capability, Financial Counselling and related services across office and community settings. Working closely with financial counsellors, caseworkers, churches and community partners, you’ll drive strong client outcomes, ensure compliance, and embed a trauma‑informed, strengths‑based approach while fostering a collaborative, high‑performing team culture.
What You’ll Bring
- Experience leading and coaching teams in community or social services
- Strong background supporting people experiencing financial hardship
- Ability to build genuine connections with diverse communities
- Proven capability managing priorities, data, and reporting in fast‑paced environments
- Collaborative, values‑led, outcomes‑focused leadership style
- Clear verbal and written communication skills
- Relevant tertiary qualification (Social Work, Community Services, Management or similar)
- Alignment with Anglicare’s Christian vision, mission and values
