Chief Executive Officer (CEO) - Onsite

Data Signs (Australia) is the largest manufacturer of Solar Powered Traffic Management equipment in the southern hemisphere. We are known in the industry for our exceptional reliability and innovative products; both in terms of hardware design and software functionality.

About the Role

We are seeking a commercial, growth driven Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the privately owned business into its next phase of growth, learning firsthand from the founder who built this business.

You will set the commercial direction, elevate sales performance, and shape the organisation to deliver sustainable EBITDA growth.

As CEO, you will take full responsibility for day‑to‑day operations across manufacturing, engineering, product development, sales, service and people leadership — while partnering closely with the Founder on strategy, market expansion and investment priorities.

This is a unique opportunity to step into a high‑impact leadership role within an established, profitable and proudly Australian engineering and manufacturing company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial growth agenda by driving sales performance, market expansion and strong customer relationships.
  • Strengthen sales discipline and capability, ensuring a robust pipeline, effective account management and targeted growth into new markets and partnerships.
  • Oversee end‑to‑end operations across manufacturing, engineering, R&D, supply chain, quality, sales and service.
  • Own full P&L performance, lifting revenue, margin, cost efficiency and cashflow.
  • Oversea the product roadmap across hardware, software and firmware, drive innovation and product quality.
  • Develop leadership capability, build a high‑performance culture and lead workforce planning.
  • Model and reinforce company values and reputation with staff, customers, suppliers, partners and regulators.
  • Ensure strong WHS, regulatory and quality compliance across all operations.

About You

You will thrive in this role if you are both strategic and a hands‑on leader with the ability to balance innovation, operational excellence and commercial performance. Your experience across engineering, operations, product sales and manufacturing, positions you as a credible leader who can thrive in and add value to a founder‑led organisation.

You are currently in an executive leadership position, driving operational outcomes for the organisation and are looking for an opportunity to lead as CEO.

What We Offer

  • A pivotal leadership role in a growing Australian manufacturing and technology company.
  • Opportunity to shape product innovation and operational excellence.
  • Support from a deeply experienced founder transitioning into an Executive Chair role.
  • A strong platform for growth, culture building and long‑term strategic value creation.

How to Apply

If you are an experienced executive looking for a role where you can lead, innovate and make a lasting impact, we would love to hear from you.

Please submit your resume to vkrishnan@obdios.com and a brief cover letter outlining your experience and fit for the role.
