The Organisation

Safe Ministry Check Trust is part of an ACNC-registered charity providing a sophisticated SaaS platform to help churches across Australia and New Zealand protect vulnerable people. Our mission is to make safeguarding culture and screening accessible to every faith community, regardless of size or technical ability.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary, self-directed Chief Executive Officer to lead our "scale-up" phase. Reporting to the Board of Safe Ministry Group Pty Ltd, you will take our proven technology and expand its reach, ensuring that safeguarding is integrated into the heart of faith-based ministry.

Role Overview

• Location: Newcastle, NSW (preferred) or Remote/Flexible with travel.
• Remuneration: Competitive package + NFP Salary Packaging (FBT exemptions).
• Primary Goal: Maximizing safety and reach over commercial margins.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Growth & Autonomy

• Independently develop and execute a 3-year roadmap to scale impact across AU/NZ.
• Drive the organization forward with high initiative and minimal day-to-day oversight.
• Maintain transparent, mission-focused reporting to the Board.

2. Relational Advocacy

• Serve as the primary ambassador to denominational leaders and local pastors.
• "Translate" complex SaaS and safeguarding concepts into simple, relational steps.
• Patiently empower users with low digital literacy to adopt the platform.

3. SaaS & Mission Management

• Oversee SaaS architecture and product deliverables to ensure a robust, secure user experience.
• Balance technical sustainability with the mission to serve small, resource-poor churches.
• Lead and inspire a small, dedicated staff team.

About You

Essential Criteria

• Active Christian Faith: A personal walk with Jesus and commitment to Biblical teaching (Pastor’s reference required).
• High Self-Direction: A proven "starter" who builds their own map and thrives with autonomy.
• The "Translator" Mindset: Able to bridge the gap between SaaS architecture and the practical needs of church volunteers.
• SaaS Intelligence: Solid understanding of software delivery, business models, and UX.
• Relational Heart: A patient, approachable demeanour and a deep passion for the protection of the vulnerable.
