Associate Pastor

Sunnybank District Baptist Church (SDBC) is searching for a full-time Associate Pastor (Young Adults & Small Groups).

SDBC’s mission is to work with God in transforming people into passionate followers of Jesus.

Passionate Followers of the Lord Jesus will:

• Build relational bridges to REACH people with the gospel of Christ.
• Welcome and CONNECT people with God’s community.
• Change and GROW in Christlike maturity.
• Help and SERVE with Spirit given gifts and abilities.
• Enjoy and HONOUR God in all of life.

SDBC is a church of over 600 people within a multi-cultural community located on the south side of Brisbane.

The successful candidate will  be eligible for accreditation with the Baptist Union of Queensland or be willing to work toward accreditation.

The salary will be commensurate with the Baptist Union of Queensland recommendations.

Selection Criteria

1. Definite understanding of God’s call to this position.
2. Ability to provide pastoral vision, energetic leadership, clear direction, and organisational oversight.
3. Ability to communicate effectively through strong biblical teaching in an engaging manner.
4. Ability to develop a program for discipleship, training, and mentoring volunteer leaders and those passionate about ministry.
5. Ability to delegate and oversee the planning of outreach activities in the community and empowering young adults to evangelise to their friends.
6. Ability to work collaboratively with staff and leadership at SDBC and use gifts/interests in other ministry areas of need within SDBC.
