National Director – Christian NFP Leadership Role

Steer Incorporated is a Christian organisation committed to advancing the work of the Lord Jesus Christ through strategic partnerships, faithful stewardship, and support for mission and ministry initiatives in Australia and around the world.
We are seeking an exceptional Christian executive to lead the organisation as National Director.
This influential leadership role combines ministry leadership, organisational management, financial stewardship, governance oversight and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with the Board of Directors, you will help shape Steer's future direction while ensuring the organisation remains financially strong, well-governed and aligned with its Christian mission.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall strategy, operations and performance of Steer.
- Partner with the Board to support effective governance, informed decision-making and long-term sustainability.
- Oversee the prudent management of Steer's investment portfolio and financial resources in accordance with approved policies.
- Ensure strong governance, risk management, compliance and accountability frameworks across the organisation.
- Monitor legal, regulatory, taxation and charitable sector developments and provide advice to the Board on emerging opportunities and risks.
- Lead and develop teams across finance, risk and compliance, partnerships and operations.
- Build trusted relationships with churches, ministry partners, Christian organisations and key stakeholders.
- Protect and strengthen Steer's reputation, integrity and Christian witness
About You
You are a mature Christian leader who brings:
- Senior executive, CEO, Executive Director, General Manager or equivalent leadership experience.
- A passion for Christian mission and Kingdom impact.
- Experience working with Boards and governance structures.
- Strong financial acumen, including oversight of investments, budgets or organisational resources.
- Experience leading risk, compliance or organisational accountability functions.
- Strategic thinking, sound judgement and excellent communication skills.
- A collaborative, servant-hearted leadership style with high personal integrity.
